Room Division Cleaner / Room Attendant / Housekeeping Attendant

Position Overview

The Room Division Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, order, and presentation of guest rooms, suites, and public areas. The role maintains high hygiene standards, supports guest satisfaction, and contributes to the overall quality and comfort of the guest experience in line with UAE/GCC hospitality standards.

Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / Floor Supervisor / Housekeeping Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

Guest Room Cleaning
  • Clean and prepare guest rooms according to hotel standards.
  • Change bed linens, make beds, and arrange furnishings neatly.
  • Dust, vacuum, mop floors, and clean furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Replenish amenities (toiletries, stationery, beverages, minibar items).
  • Empty trash bins and remove used linen to designated collection points.
  • Inspect rooms after cleaning to ensure readiness for guest check-in.
Public Areas & Facilities
  • Maintain cleanliness in corridors, lounges, elevators, lobbies, and other public areas.
  • Ensure proper hygiene and presentation of restrooms, pantries, and housekeeping offices.
  • Report maintenance or safety issues to supervisors promptly.
Guest Service & Interaction
  • Respond courteously and promptly to guest requests and inquiries.
  • Respect guest privacy and confidentiality while performing duties.
  • Provide assistance with minor guest requests when appropriate.
Hygiene & Safety
  • Adhere to HACCP and hotel hygiene standards.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely according to instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and proper lifting techniques.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Operational Support
  • Collaborate with other housekeeping team members to complete daily cleaning targets.
  • Assist with linen sorting, laundry collection, and stock replenishment.
  • Support department audits, inspections, and housekeeping inventory management.
  • Attend daily briefings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational training in housekeeping is an advantage.
Experience
  • 1–2 years of experience as a Room Attendant, Cleaner, or Housekeeping Staff in a hotel, resort, or serviced apartment.
  • Familiarity with housekeeping procedures and hospitality standards in the UAE/GCC preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to follow instructions and SOPs.
  • Good time management and efficiency skills.
  • Basic English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
