Position Overview
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of guest rooms, public areas, corridors, and back-of-house spaces in line with the hotel’s quality standards and UAE/GCC hospitality expectations. The role ensures that every guest enjoys a comfortable, clean, and welcoming environment during their stay.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Room Cleaning & Maintenance
Clean and service guest rooms daily according to hotel standards and checklist (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing).
Change bed linens and make beds neatly with attention to presentation and comfort.
Replace towels, amenities, and consumables as per standards.
Report any maintenance issues (broken fixtures, leaks, electrical problems) to Housekeeping Supervisor.
Ensure guest privacy and respect “Do Not Disturb” requests.
Public Area Housekeeping
Maintain cleanliness of public spaces (lobby, corridors, elevators, restrooms) to brand standards.
Keep housekeeping carts stocked and organized for efficient operations.
Assist in deep cleaning tasks as scheduled or directed by management.
Hygiene & Safety Compliance
Comply with UAE/GCC health, safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.
Follow safe handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Dispose of waste and soiled linens per property procedures.
Adhere to UAE / GCC Labor Law standards for workplace safety.
Service Excellence
Greet guests politely and respond to simple requests professionally.
Attend to special requests (extra pillows, blankets, amenities) promptly.
Handle guest inquiries with discretion and escalate complex issues to supervisors.
Maintain consistent service quality during busy shifts.
Inventory & Equipment Handling
Report stock levels of linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies.
Use housekeeping equipment (vacuums, polishers, carts) properly and keep them clean after use.
Participate in periodic inventory counts.
Teamwork & Communication
Coordinate with Reception, Maintenance, and other departments for guest requests and room readiness.
Attend team briefings and training sessions as scheduled.
Communicate effectively with supervisors about priorities and issues.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Certification in housekeeping or hospitality is a plus.
Experience
Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or serviced apartment environment is preferred (1+ years, depending on property level).
Skills
Good understanding of cleaning standards, procedures, and hospitality etiquette.
Ability to follow checklists and be detail-oriented in completing tasks.
Comfortable with repetitive tasks and physical work.
Basic communication skills in English (additional languages are advantageous).
