Bartender

Position Overview

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, delivering excellent guest service, maintaining compliance with UAE/GCC food, beverage and licensed alcohol service standards, and ensuring the bar operates efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation & Service
  • Prepare and serve classic and specialty cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, mocktails, and other beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Use bar equipment (shakers, jiggers, blenders, etc.) safely and correctly.
  • Ensure accurate drink proportions, garnishes, and presentation.
Guest Interaction & Service
  • Greet guests warmly and take drink orders professionally.
  • Recommend beverages based on guest preferences.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest questions, complaints, or special requests.
  • Check identification to verify the legal drinking age in accordance with UAE /GCC regulations.
Bar Operations
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the bar station and work areas throughout shifts.
  • Restock bar inventory and supplies; monitor inventory levels and report shortages.
  • Assist with bar setup, closing, and breakdown as required.
  • Prepare garnishes, stock mixers, and ice for efficient service.
Cash Handling & POS Operations
  • Take and process beverage orders using the POS system.
  • Handle cash and electronic payments accurately and balance tills at shift end.
Compliance & Safety
  • Adhere to health, safety, hygiene, and licensed alcohol service standards.
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and responsibly refuse service when necessary.
Teamwork
  • Collaborate with servers, barbacks, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist in training new or junior bar staff when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience
  • Proven experience as a bartender in a high-volume bar, restaurant, or hotel environment (typically 1–3+ years).
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, classic cocktails, and mixology techniques.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with cash handling and POS systems.
Education & Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or bartending certificate is an advantage.
Language
  • Good command of English is essential; additional languages (e.g., Arabic) are a plus.
