Food & Beverage Service Staff

Position Overview

The Food & Beverage Service Staff (Waiter/Waitress) is responsible for delivering high-quality, professional service in a restaurant, café, club, hotel, or banqueting environment. This role supports the smooth service of food and beverages, ensures guest satisfaction, and maintains high standards of hygiene and hospitality service compliance as per UAE / GCC industry expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service & Interaction
  • Greet and welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and courtesy.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and assist guests with menu selections.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and transmit these to the kitchen/bar correctly.
  • Ensure the timely, accurate, and professional delivery of food and beverages to guests.
  • Anticipate guest needs and address queries and concerns promptly and courteously.
Dining Setup & Operations
  • Prepare and maintain service areas (mise-en-place) before, during, and after service.
  • Ensure tables are clean, properly set, and maintained throughout service.
  • Assist in setup and breakdown of dining areas and banquet functions in line with standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff for smooth service flow.
Compliance & Hygiene
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of dining spaces, service stations, and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to company SOPs, health & safety policies, and UAE hospitality standards.
Cash Handling & POS Operations
  • Process customer bills using POS systems accurately.
  • Handle cash and electronic payments professionally and reconcile at shift end.
Teamwork & Professional Conduct
  • Work effectively with other service and kitchen colleagues to deliver excellent guest experiences.
  • Report any service deviations, equipment issues, guest complaints, or safety concerns to management.
  • Maintain professional grooming, dress code, and punctuality in line with UAE /GCC hospitality standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in hospitality/F&B is a plus.
Experience
  • Prior experience as a waiter/waitress or food service role is preferred (hotel or restaurant experience advantageous).
Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with good command of English (other languages are an advantage).
  • Customer-focused with excellent service attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Competence with POS systems and basic cash handling.
