Position Overview
The Food & Beverage Service Staff (Waiter/Waitress) is responsible for delivering high-quality, professional service in a restaurant, café, club, hotel, or banqueting environment. This role supports the smooth service of food and beverages, ensures guest satisfaction, and maintains high standards of hygiene and hospitality service compliance as per UAE / GCC industry expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Interaction
Greet and welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and courtesy.
Present menus, explain daily specials, and assist guests with menu selections.
Take accurate food and beverage orders and transmit these to the kitchen/bar correctly.
Ensure the timely, accurate, and professional delivery of food and beverages to guests.
Anticipate guest needs and address queries and concerns promptly and courteously.
Dining Setup & Operations
Prepare and maintain service areas (mise-en-place) before, during, and after service.
Ensure tables are clean, properly set, and maintained throughout service.
Assist in setup and breakdown of dining areas and banquet functions in line with standards.
Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff for smooth service flow.
Compliance & Hygiene
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
Maintain the cleanliness of dining spaces, service stations, and equipment.
Ensure adherence to company SOPs, health & safety policies, and UAE hospitality standards.
Cash Handling & POS Operations
Process customer bills using POS systems accurately.
Handle cash and electronic payments professionally and reconcile at shift end.
Teamwork & Professional Conduct
Work effectively with other service and kitchen colleagues to deliver excellent guest experiences.
Report any service deviations, equipment issues, guest complaints, or safety concerns to management.
Maintain professional grooming, dress code, and punctuality in line with UAE /GCC hospitality standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in hospitality/F&B is a plus.
Experience
Prior experience as a waiter/waitress or food service role is preferred (hotel or restaurant experience advantageous).
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with good command of English (other languages are an advantage).
Customer-focused with excellent service attitude.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Competence with POS systems and basic cash handling.
